My first visit to the historic gold camp towns west of Colorado Springs was a pleasant surprise! It was so close to the big city and yet so full of charm! I had anticipated painting mostly scenery, but found myself intrigued and challenged by the architecture. How delightful it was to meet people from the town as I painted on this trail overlooking town. This painting won an Honorable Mention at Victor Celebrates the Arts Plein Air Festival.
